Where's Your Engine?

In class we have started discussion about the kids' engines.  The engine is basically how the body is feeling.  A "high engine" is classified as being "on the go," where a "low engine" is thought of as "out of gas."  A "just right engine" means everything is running calmly and smoothly.

We've also started discussing how to take care of engines.  We want to help the kids stay at a "just right engine" all the time.  So far, we've done a lot of breathing exercises.  Ask your child about bubble breaths and elevator breaths!  We also have done brain gym.  See if your child can demonstrate it for you!

Engine work is something we'll be doing all year.  We'll continue to learn how to monitor engines and more strategies for keeping them all running "just right"!
